THE ORLANDO SENTINEL Sunday, April 9, 1995; p. 37 VENUS PROJECT DESERVED BETTER LETTERS TO THE EDITOR The article by Mike Thomas about Jacque Fresco's Venus Project (Restless native, Feb. 12) reveals more about the mind of Thomas than about the genius of Fresco. Bill Witsbergers distorted picture and Thomas disturbing innuendos degraded one of Florida's great thinkers. Our young people need to know about a future that goes beyond drugs and despair. They need to know about nanotechnology and gene readers that could brighten their future. We should clone the few rare jewels like Jacque Fresco who see beyond mental pollution. A caring, giving, intelligent person deserves more than "A Dreamer From Venus." Perhaps he is from Venus and Thomas is from Mars; sparrows do not comprehend how eagles fly. Those of us who know him and are familiar with his project feel that what is needed is media exposure and factual reporting. The Venus Project will benefit Florida and the world.
